MISNOMER OF HINDU RELIGION

"Hindu means" hinsam dusayati khandayati Iti hinduh "" where violence, and sin are hated is a  Hindu.
The word Hindu is derived (through Persian) from the Sanskrit  word Sindhu, the historic local name for the Indus River  in the northwestern part of the Indian Subcontinent (Modern day Pakistan). The word Sindhu is first mentioned in the Rigveda.
The word Hindu was taken by European languages from the Arabic term " al-Hind "  and refers to the land of the people who live across the River Indus.     This Arabic term was itself taken from the Persian term Hindū, which refers to all Indians. By the 13th century, Hinduism  emerged as a popular alternative Name of India,  meaning the "land of Hindus"
Hinduism consists of  many diverse traditions  and has no single founder,   Among its direct roots is the Historical Vedic Religion of Iron age of India.      As such, Hinduism is often called the as the " Oldest Religion " or "oldest living religion" in the world.
Hinduism is also the oldest living major tradition on earth with roots reaching back into prehistory.    It is described as both the oldest of the world's religions and the most diverse.   Hinduism does not have a "unified system of belief encoded in a declaration of faith or  a Creed,  but is rather an umbrella term comprising the plurality of religious phenomena originating in, and based on, the Vedic Traditions.
According to the Supreme Court of India, "Unlike other religions in the World, the Hindu religion does not claim any one Prophet, it does not worship any one God, it does not believe in any one philosophic concept, it does not follow any one act of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not satisfy the traditional features of a religion or creed. It is a way of life and nothing more"
However, other religions of India , such as Budhism , Jainism  and Sikhism,   believe in karma, outside the scope of Hinduism.      Hinduism is therefore viewed as the most complex of all the living, historical world religions.
Hinduism, is defined , as Sanātana Dharma, a Sanskrit  phrase meaning "The Eternal Law" or  the "eternal way".    To its adherents, Hinduism is the traditional way of life.   Because of the wide range of traditions and ideas covered by the term.
A definition of Hinduism given by the first Vice President of India who was also a prominent theologian, Sarvepalli Radhakrishna, states that Hinduism is not "just a faith" but in itself is related to the union of reason and  Intuition.    Radhakrishna  explicitly states that Hinduism cannot be defined, but is only to be experienced.

Hinduism's tolerance to variations in belief and its broad range of traditions make it difficult to define as a religion according to traditional Western conceptions.

RECENT DISCOVERIES ARE FOUND IN ANCIENT HINDU SCRIPTURES

REPRINT FROM MY OWN BLOG - SREEASTROPOINT

  1. Handed down from generation to generation since the Vedic age through the guru-shishya parampara, committing to memory and reciting these verses comes from years of arduous practice.
  2. ” India – the land of Vedas, the remarkable works contains not only religious ideas for a perfect life, but also facts which science has proved true. Electricity, radium, electronics, airship, all are known to the seers who founded the Vedas.”
  3. Ujjain is a city in the state of Madhya Pradhesh. City of Ujjain (one who conquers with pride) was once ruled by the legendary king Vikramaditya. King Vikramaditya was known for his valor and impeccable justice. His court was adorned by nine famous courtiers called Navaratna (nine gems), who were great scholars in different fields of knowledge. ( Kalidasa became the most brilliant of the `nine gems’ at the court of Vikramaditya of Ujjain.) Despite extensive effort, Vikramaditya can not be identified with any known historical king.
  4. The real meaning is revealed by considering the meaning of these words. Vikramaditya is made by joining prefix “Vi” to words “Krama” and “Aditya”. “Krama” means order, “Aditya” means sun and prefix “Vi” means deviation. Therefore, etymologically Vikramaditya means the change in the course of the sun. What is significant is Ujjain is located on the tropic of cancer. Thus, sun comes to Ujjain during its northward journey, changes its course, and starts its southward journey. Vikramaditya is sun itself changing its journey at Ujjain. Nine gems in the court of Vikramaditya are nine planets of Solar system.
  5. Ujjain was known as Ujjayini in ancient times and was the capital of ancient empire Avanti. Ujjayini was the center of Indian civilization for several centuries and famous for its astronomical observatory. Ujjayini was equivalent of Greenwich, from where time was synchronized all over India and even abroad. New day commenced when it was six a.m. in Ujjayini. When it is six in the morning in Ujjain, it is midnight in Britain. It is from this ancient system of changing date in the morning in Ujjain that changing date at midnight has been arrived at.
  6. As time was synchronized in a large part of the world according to Ujjayini standard time, it was only natural to designate the god of Ujjain as god time himself, and therefore the name Mahakala, Time the great.
  7. Not only do the Vedas contain a high level of philosophical and spiritual knowledge, but they also hold information on material science. The Vedic literature includes such works as the Ayur-Veda, the original science of wholistic medicine as taught by Lord Dhanvantari; Dhanur-veda, the military science as taught by Bhrigu; Gandharva-veda, which is on the arts of music, dance, drama, etc.. by Bharata Muni, Artha-sastram, the science of government, and the Manu-samhita, the Vedic lawbook.
  8. There is also the Sulbha sutras, which contains the Vedic system of mathematics. These sutras are a supplement of the Kalpasustras, which shows the earliest forms of algebra. The Vedic form of mathematics is much more advanced than that found in early Greek, Babylonian, Egyptian, or Chinese civilizations. In fact, the geometrical formula known as the Pythagorean theorem can be traced to the Baudhayana, the earliest form of the Shulba Sustras prior to the 8th century B. C.
  9. Mathematics
  10. It was this Indian system that originated the decimal system of tens, hundreds, etc., and the procedure of carrying the remainder of one column over to the next. It also provided a means of dividing fractions and the use of equations and letters to signify unknown factors. These Indian numbers were used in Arabia after 700 AD. and then spread to Europe where they were called the Arabic numerals. It is only because Europe changed from Roman numerals to these Arabic numerals that originated in India that many of the developments in Europe in the fields of science and math were able to take place.
  11. The number 108 is very auspicious for Hindus. It is the number of beads of a rosary and of many other things in Indian cosmology. But why is this number considered to be holy?
  12. The answer to this mystery may lie in the fact that the ancient Indians took this to be the distance between the earth and the sun in sun-diameter units and the distance between the earth and the moon in moon-diameter units.
  13. Two facts that any book on astronomy will verify :
  14. Distance between earth and sun = 108 times sun-diameter
  15. Distance between earth and moon = 108 times moon-diameter
  16. The science of mathematics starts from counting of numbers. The present versatile system of decimal numbers needed two fundamental discoveries: the concept of zero and the principle of place value in powers of the radix. And both of these were discovered in India. The place value system made the sexagesimal numbers of Babylonians obsolete (its only remains are 1 hour=60 minutes, and 1 minute=60 seconds). And now the Roman numbers are also getting gradually replaced by Arabic numerals on the place value pattern. The present numerals are called Arabic not because they were invented in Arab but because Indian things had to go via Arabian countries to Europe.
  17. Similar to these two concepts, there is a very fundamental concept of infinity. In modern mathematics, infinity has been taken as an infinite extension of large numbers. In India, the concept of infinity was given deep attention in ancient times. It was found that infinity is not just a number but it is as tangible as any reality of general experience, and many of its properties were enumerated. In mathematical language, it can be defined as a universal set which is a proper subset of its every proper subset. Modern mathematics may enrich itself by working out the implications of such a definition of infinity.
  18. Description of Tides:
  19. The Vishnu Purana gives a quite an accurate description of tides:
  20. “In all the oceans the water remains at all times the same in quantity and never increases or diminishes; but like the water in a cauldron, which in consequence of its combination with heat, expands, so the waters of the ocean swell with the increase of the Moon. The waters, although really neither more nor less, dilate or contract as the Moon increases or wanes in the light and dark fortnights…..”
  21. India has left a universal legacy determining for instance the dates of solstices, as noted by 18th century French astronomer Jean-Sylvain Baily, (1736–93) 18th century French astronomer and politician.
  22. Jean-Sylvain Baily said:
  23. “The movement of stars which was calculated by Hindus 4,500 years ago, does not differ even by a minute from the tables which we are using today.” And he concludes: “The Hindu systems of astronomy are much more ancient than those of the Egyptians – even the Jews derived from the Hindus their knowledge.”
  24. Electricity
  25. The ancient text of Agastya Samhita describes the method of making electric battery, and that water can be split into oxygen and hydrogen.

YOUR ASCENDANT is ARIES with Jupiter and Ketu Posited there.

1.      Eager and enthusiastic, You are  the  female , always at the front of the queue and kick-starting everything from projects to dinner dates.   A fearless and natural leader, You are  charismatic, energetic, and dynamic. You  look forward to new challenges and novel situations   You  has a marvelous sense of adventure and can be extremely playful.
2.      The sign of Aries is governed by fire, and like other fire signs, an Aries woman is passionate. She is often the seducer in the game of love, but her partner and lover has to be strong and a match for her own personality or she will lose interest.  She wants someone who can go head-to-head, whether over dinner or between the sheets. She likes to get her own way, and arguments are often the Arian version of foreplay.
3.      A crusader for the rights of others and a defender of lost causes.     Popularity of the project makes   no difference to her. As long as she believes in the cause, it will be pursued with all the vigor and enthusiasm this woman can give.
4.      Ruled by Mars and the first sign of zodiac, the sign of Aries is the baby in the karmic wheel of life.   An Aries woman possesses eternal optimism, always looking forward and rarely back. You are  a natural born leader.
5.      You are  sometimes jealous, but the jealousy arises from insecurity, and You  responds           well and quickly to reassurance from Your  partners that dispel Your  fears.
6.      You  like flash floods - bringing excitement and chaos one minute, gone the next. Friendships with You  are often   brilliantly intense, yet can also be fleeting, although  You  does keep select close friendships that last long .   You have  a wide circle of friends.
7.      Being an  Aries woman  You fall  naturally into leadership roles. You  would rather give             orders than take them.
8.      Needing constant change in her life, the Aries woman would do well as a doctor, dentist, lawyer, stock broker, or even a professional athlete. Given her ambitious nature and eagerness to tackle new challenges, the Aries woman would obviously do well as an entrepreneur.  As Mars the Bhumi Putra being Karaka for Real estate and Saturn Karaka for Land the Real estate with Your Leadership Qualities is well suited for you.
9.      Independence is a major need for the Aries woman and having control of Your  financial resources plays an important role in this.    Money is never a real concern to You      and putting something aside for a rainy day simply isn't a part of Your  economic routine.
10.  You   will use a bank, but would be quite content to hide Your  money under the mattress where You can quickly get your  hands on it.
11.  Generosity is a wonderful trait that many of the spring-born women share -especially with those they are fond of.  You  love nothing more than to be the hero and rescue someone       in need.
12.  As a mother, You're  caring and not very fussy. You  will fight tooth and nail for Your  children, and is keen for them to do well. You  will also be at Your  best as a parent if You  also has interests outside the home, either a job or an absorbing hobby.
13.  You  can be impatient at times, but  has boundless energy and is always busily engaged in some activity or another.   You  delights in seeing Your  children strong and independent,   and will thoroughly encourage these traits. You  does not usually fit the role of traditional mother, and has Your  very own style of parenting that You  call  Your  own, and that works very well for you and your family.
14.   Aries rules the head, and in astrology, perhaps curiously, the ruling body parts are generally more vulnerable areas. As such, Aries women can suffer from more headaches than most signs.
15.  Mars is the son of the Earth in Hindu mythology. Hence he is called Ku-ja or Bhumi-ja, the one born from the  Earth. He is the flame hidden in matter. His energy demands manifestation in material form. But he can also bring out some of the negative or dark sides of the Earth energy, the titanic primordial powers, the Asuras or  demons of the abyss, who wish to destroy the creation and brings things back to the state of raw chaos.   This inertia or tamasic quality behind Mars energy must not be forgotten.
16.   Combined with Jupiter, the positive side of Mars comes out as the capacity to make great achievements in  life in harmony with law and truth.          It creates the proverbial good guy who works selflessly for what is right,  but who, however, may suffer from self-righteousness.
17.   Combined with Saturn, its negative side usually predominates, creating selfish, perverted or criminal  tendencies, particularly when there are no balancing factors.   Where balancing factors do exist this  combination creates discipline and the capacity for great accomplishments.
18.   Mars is the planet of action. Yet it is not just action for action's sake, it is the planet of goal oriented action.  As ones ultimate goal and highest value in life, so ones action.
19.  In short, most of the qualities of Mars relate to his nature as fire. He can burn or give warmth, give light or create smoke, disturb or illumine, but unlike the Sun who is self-luminous, he requires some fuel to burn.
20.  FINANCE:-
21.  Lord of the 2nd House (Dhana Sthana -Finance) is VENUS which is placed in Aquarius  the  11th House of gains.  VENUS is in Conjunction with MERCURY and SUN.
22.  As a planet of commerce, Mercury represents trade, or articles of trade, including money. Though not in himself a planet of wealth, he is helpful in both acquiring it and keeping it, as he helps us organize it. He is necessary whenever there is to be an exchange or ideas or commodities. He sees the value of open markets  and free communication and is not restricted by boundaries of race, nation, caste or belief, but he can be attached to his own opinion, his calculations and his own gains and losses.
23.   Mercury is an important factor for determining our vocation, as that is what we do in life to communicate with others, our interchange with society. Mercury shows how we appear and how we function in the network of transactions that makes up the world of things and ideas. In this regard, his representation of our education or training in life comes into play. He is the child that is the father of the man.

24.   In Sanskrit, Mercury is Budha, which means intelligence or cognition, and relates to the Buddhi, the faculty of determination whereby we discern the real from the unreal (fully awakening which one become enlightened, a Buddha).
25.  Venus is the significater of art, poetry, painting, music and dance. She is our muse in life.  She brings wealth as an adornment.  She is beauty, style and elegance; the refinement of wealth and not just crude accumulation. Her concern is  not just with quantity but with quality, with good taste.
26.  Venus also gives power. It is not only the power  which fascinates but the power to move and to motivate.   In Indian mythology Venus is the teacher of the demons or titans, the Asuras, as to subdue and influence them cannot be done by force but only by charm and grace.
27.  A strong Venus is very helpful in any chart, as it indicates capacity to love, sense of refinement, beauty and purity.  Love is the strongest power, and in this regard Venus possesses the power to overcome even Mars.
